WEBSITE UPDATED: February 1, 2025
Wispynook Standard Poodles is located in the beautiful hills of Southern Vermont where we enjoy all four seasons of the year. Dianne is located in Vermont, and Debbie is located in Pittsfield, MA.
We are sisters who discovered the standard poodle and our love for them while caring for our mother who was suffering form Alzheimer's. We got a poodle to visit with her in the nursing home and discovered how intelligent, fun, athletic, and loving they are. She fell in love with him and looked forward to our outings every week.
We found ourselves talking about poodles all of the time and finally started to talk about the joy of owning, showing and breeding these beautiful dogs.
Stella, Rose, and Jasmin, and Tia live with Dianne. Stella is the daughter of lovely Angel and has finished her championship. Song, Maddy, and Darcy live with Debbie. Maddy, who attained her championship as a puppy, is out of Saphire Poodles in Paulaski, NY, owned by Marlene Slade.
Our winged angels, Billy & Grace, were litter mates and were our first Standard Poodles back in 2008. Several of our dogs have attained their AKC CGC's. Song and Angel are daughters of our sweet Grace. Stella is a daughter of Angel. Angel, Mia (a Song daughter), and Sam (a son of Song's who attained his championship) have gone on to new, loving families where they are cherished and thriving.
We are dedicated to raise our poodles in the home environment where they are exposed to the daily sounds and sights of life, people coming and going, and other pets. All our puppies are exposed to various life situations so they will be loving, confident family members! They are our main priority when they are born.
When we purchase or keep a puppy, we start its socialization immediately. It goes with us everywhere; shopping in pet-friendly stores, hikes, swimming in local lakes and ponds, photography trips around the state, fairs and markets, and playing on the snow and ice covered lakes. We never miss a chance to have them interact with strangers and other animals.
To see our poodles that have either completed their championships or are currently in the show ring, see our 'News' page.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Whether you are looking for a loving family companion to hang out around the house, go for car rides and on hikes or are looking for a great friend & candidate for agility, fly ball, obedience or service work (therapy, tracking) you have come to the right place. Our dogs were chosen for their great temperament and learning ability. We have dogs that have attained their CGC's (Canine Good Citizens Certs) and are used in therapy work, as well as several of our puppies that are in their new homes. Some are in training for obedience and/or agility and some being shown in AKC Conformation towards their Championships. Not only do we strive for great temperament, but also for proper structure and excellent health. All our dogs are fully health tested before breeding. When a litter of puppies is born, they become our sole concentration. We start out with bio-sensor during the first couple weeks, then the pups are given toys of several different textures so they become accustomed to different feels, then they begin taking treks with us through the woods, all of this expands as they mature. They experience water, other animals, children and car rides as we take them on several fun adventures to start them on a path to learning new things.
We expect to have one to three possible litters a year (between both houses). It is very important to us that the pups get plenty of one on one attention so each are emotionally ready for their forever, loving homes. We are dedicated to offering well rounded, well adjusted companions.
